Here at Piume Equino, our animals wield several types of magic! This will explain what each type of magic is made up of, and the differing levels.
Shape Shifting basics
(Horses do not begin shape shifting until they are two years of age)
When you are choosing the shapeshift form your horse may take on, there are a few things to remember:
- This CANNOT be changed. Ever. Once you decide, you’re done. So make sure you are comfortable with your choice!
- We don’t want a ton of similar type shapeshifts running around (i.e. having a dog, wolf, arctic wolf, dingo & fox, or having a deer, moose, caribou) because then that becomes boring. And boring isn’t fun! Get creative! Think outside the box! Would a peacock suit your horse? Maybe a Tasmanian devil? Duplicates are fine, but variety is fun!
- Try to put some thought into what you want the shapeshift animal to be. It should be an animal that suits your horse's demeanor. If your horse is gentle, kind and sweet, maybe a lion won’t be fitting for them. Something more like a doe or a sheep might be, though.
- Be specific. If you put down ‘bird’ for example, that could mean all kinds of things. Rather, choose something like ‘red hawk’ or ‘hummingbird’ or ‘sparrow’.
- Your shape shift animal needs to take a natural type form, meaning, if you pick a timber wolf, it needs to fall into normal size and color for that animal, so no giant neon green timberwolves.
- If a form you want to use isn’t on the list, just ask and it might be fine to use.
Animals that are already in use (you can still use these, too!): We will update this list each month during our activity checks.

The Elements and How They Work
(Horses do not begin wielding their element until they are two years of age.)
As you should know by now, the horses of Piume are magical, elemental wielding creatures. Here is yet another breakdown as far as which alliance wields which element. We are not making rules on this yet. Yet! There shouldn't be a bunch of all powerful element wielding equines out there. Only the Royals have ultimate mastery over their ability. As long as you ensure you have less ability than them, you should be okay. A good rule of thumb is to age your skill level with your character. When they are just growing into their powers, it's going to be erratic and hard to maintain. As they age, they will begin to master it bit by bit. By the time your horse is twelve or fifteen, they should have a high level of ability.
Water is used by Angelics
Fire is used by Demonics
Earth is used by Indifferent
Air is used by Feathers
*AS A REMINDER* It is rare for a foal born of two like elements to be born wielding a different element. In this case, the foal will be allowed to grow with its family, but usually by the time they turn two, their innate personalities all but force them to join their respective herds. We will chose foals to be born as such at random.
